1. Please introduce the company you joined.

I got a job at a door-to-door pharmacy called Samsung Jeongmun Hospital, located in front of Gangnam Samsung Hospital.
Since it is a door-to-door pharmacy, it offers a variety of prescriptions, and I thought I could learn a lot here.

2. What do you think is the foundation for success in employment?

I thought this year would be a year of learning, so I got a job in a place where I could be busy and learn a lot, regardless of other conditions.
By giving up my greed for other conditions, I was able to succeed in finding a job relatively easily.

3. Please introduce your preparation process and know-how.

There is no particular preparation process required; it is important to contact as many places as possible.
After the results of the national exam come out, it will be helpful to search for relevant employment information on the internet and contact them.

4. Is there anything you would like to say to your juniors?

– End your practicum well, good luck on the national exam, and always stay healthy.

1. What made you want to go to graduate school?

As I continued my studies, I became interested in my major and wanted to work as a pharmaceutical researcher to help patients.
I decided to go to graduate school to conduct in-depth study and research to make this a reality.

2. Please introduce your preparation process and know-how.

As an undergraduate student, I studied various things and decided on a major that interested me.
I then spoke to the professor and did in-depth practice in the lab.
It is important to gain experience in a laboratory beforehand.
I also asked many questions and sought advice from seniors who had already entered graduate school.

3. Is there anything you would like to say to your juniors?

You need to think about what you like and what you want to do in the future.
When entering graduate school, you must decide on a major that interests you and that you would like to study in the future. If you have any questions, please contact me.

1. What made you want to go to graduate school?

In the sixth year, I was assigned to five weeks of in-depth practical training at Boryung Pharmaceutical and Hanmi Pharmaceutical Formulation Research Institute. I mainly assisted researchers by being in charge of physical property testing of granules and tablets. It was a great experience for me to directly experience the devices and various testing methods I had learned in class, and the researchers treated me well, which made me interested.
Because the work itself was less monotonous and more interesting than working in a pharmacy or hospital, I decided to go to graduate school because I wanted to work in a pharmaceutical company research center after receiving my master’s degree.

2. Please introduce your preparation process and know-how.

Until I started working at a pharmaceutical company, I had never thought about going to graduate school.
Since I did not want to go to another university, I chose a pharmaceutical-related major among the professors at my school.
Since English proficiency scores are not required, I applied by only filling out a study plan and self-introduction.
Through interviews with professors and in-depth practical training, I saw and heard what kind of research was being done in the graduate school lab, and also asked advice from my seniors.

3. Is there anything you would like to say to your juniors?

If you are still in your final year and still wondering what to do after graduation, take advantage of the practical training period. Apply to various practice sites such as pharmacies/hospitals/companies/graduate schools and experience various tasks. I hope you find something you want to do or something that suits your aptitude. thank you.

1. What made you want to go to graduate school?

Before entering pharmacy school, I vaguely thought that I wanted to develop new drugs. As I conducted various experiments and practices during my four years as an undergraduate student, I think my field of interest became more and more concrete. I became interested while working at a pharmaceutical company’s research lab, and due to the nature of the research lab, a master’s degree or higher was required, and so I decided to go to graduate school. In my case, I was particularly interested in ‘pharmaceutical formulation,’ which is the basic step in making medicines, so I came to Professor Kim Ae-ri’s lab.

2. Please introduce your preparation process and know-how.

There is actually nothing special about preparing for graduate school. Above all, the most important thing is whether you are interested in the laboratory you want to enter. I recommend searching papers to see what kind of experiments are mainly performed, but the best way is to do practical work in advance during undergraduate school. This is a place you will stay in for two more years, so see and experience it for yourself. A practical tip is that the earlier you make contact, the better. Popular labs may have no openings even at the beginning of the year.

3. What I would like to say to my juniors.

If you are interested in graduate school, I recommend that you do not hesitate and get a lot of experience, such as introduction to pharmaceutical research or laboratory practice.

1. Please introduce the company you joined.

GC Green Cross develops, manufactures, and sells pharmaceuticals. It deals with both prescription and over-the-counter medicines, and focuses on vaccines and blood products. In the company, I will be responsible for introducing external items.

2. What do you think is the foundation for success in employment?

Thankfully, I was able to join the company and team of my choice. Although I wasn’t outstanding, I think it was because I decided on a career path and prepared in advance compared to other applicants. Through the valuable opportunity of working at a pharmaceutical company, I was able to understand the pharmaceutical industry more deeply, which was very helpful.

3. Please introduce your preparation process and know-how.

I tried to listen to a variety of professors’ lectures to gain broad background knowledge. I also wanted to apply for jobs in the second half of the year, so I knew that my school exams and job preparation period would overlap. That’s why I started preparing for employment in advance during my practical training.

4. Is there anything you would like to say to your juniors?

Although I have many shortcomings, I think it is important to maintain a balance between academics, relationships, and personal life during college life. In order to get a job at a pharmaceutical company, I think it would be helpful to not only take our school’s ‘Introduction to Pharmaceutical Research’ but also experience various fields as it will broaden your horizons. I also think it can be helpful to understand trends in the pharmaceutical industry through domestic and foreign articles.

1. Please introduce the company you joined.

As many of you know, Seoul Asan Hospital in Seoul is a hospital based on the Asan Social Welfare Foundation, which was established in 1977 by Asan Hyundai Group Chairman Chung Ju-young with his personal funds.

2. What do you think is the foundation for success in employment?

As with any hospital, I think it depends on practical experience, grades from undergraduate school, and English scores.

3. Please introduce your preparation process and know-how.

Hospitals tend to be hiring a lot on a regular basis. I applied for regular employment and prepared a self-introduction and interview while preparing for the national pharmacist exam. Therefore, I prepared the English scores in advance when I had time. In the case of the personal statement, it was less burdensome to prepare a rough framework in advance by selecting expected questions from seniors working at the hospital.

4. Is there anything you would like to say to your juniors?

I’ll be rooting for all your dreams to come true. Cheer up, students~ 🙂

1. Please introduce the company you joined.

The company I joined is an investment company called SYNERGY IB INVESTMENT. It is a fairly famous company that ranks first in mezzanine investment in the financial world. Its main investment areas are bio and IT, and M&A is also actively underway in these areas. The members consist of accountants, former securities firms, analysts, lawyers, pharmacists, etc. People often move to large companies for experienced positions. The main task at the company is to invest in bio/pharmaceutical companies. The entire process of evaluation, deliberation, and investment execution is carried out. Evaluates the company’s technology, anticipates the possibility of approval and commercialization, sets an appropriate valuation, and negotiates. We are making leading decisions throughout the entire process.

2. What do you think is the foundation for success in employment?

Rather than defining employment success as joining a specific company, having a job where you can do what you like is more important. I think it means success in finding a job. To find your aptitude, you need to start with what you want and the underlying reason. It’s good to follow a career path that has already been decided, but be wary of whether the chosen path reduces the variety of possibilities you have. You have to constantly think about it. The most important thing at this time is the confidence to move in the direction you think is right, no matter what others say. In my case, in order to gain confidence in my choice, I constantly think about what I can do well and what I like based on my undergraduate studies. I made an effort to gain real-life experience, and the various experiences I gained during my undergraduate studies became the basis for choosing a job.

3. Please introduce your preparation process and know-how.

Actually, I have never prepared to go to an investment company. However, I learned that there is a job called VC (Venture Capitalist) while starting a business as a student. While running a startup called PalmPharm, I met with various venture investors and conducted an IR (Investment Raise) to receive funding.
In the process, I met many venture investors who invested in good startups and developed them together.
Of course, for various reasons, the startup was not able to develop significantly, but the experience at that time helped create good venture companies in the bio/pharmaceutical field.
It became the cornerstone of my desire to become an investor who can help companies succeed.
And what I showed to the investment reviewers I met when starting my business was that I was doing my best to advance into the financial sector.
I think it was the biggest factor in getting the opportunity. I believe that showing an attitude of working sincerely, regardless of the severity of the work, is important both when applying for a job and after joining the company.

4. Is there anything you would like to say to your juniors?

Do what you like rather than living as if you were measuring your salary, name value, etc. I think it’s important to think about how you can differentiate yourself in that field. No one knows themselves better than themselves. When someone presents a limit, break it and move forward with an enterprising attitude and do your best to the end without becoming complacent. Lastly, if you have any questions about my field, please contact me at any time. thank you.
